Campgrnd is an artistic development community for the inspiration and empowerment of under-served youth. We provide a safe and creatively charged environment that enables our teens to build character, confidence, and career readiness skills through music creation.
Action
Workshops, mentorship, and the mic.
Campgrnd helps Chicago youth develop their own musical creativity through a series of workshops, group activities, peer showcases and daily presentations. Over the course of these sessions, we teach the basics of songwriting, music production, recording etiquette and the art of performance. Upon completion of our program, the participants join the Campgrnd alumni community with the understanding that their dreams are attainable through passion, hard work and perseverance.
Artist Development
Learn from the pros.
Campgrnd participants receive hands-on mentorship and training from industry professionals to develop their artistry. We partner with brand consultants, studio owners, artist managers, entertainment lawyers and more to provide group workshops and one-to-one learning opportunities. Our mentors and instructors equip our teens with the knowledge and resources to take on their solo careers.
Community
Music that gives back.
Campgrnd transforms our participants not only musically, but as constructive members of society. We encourage our teens to take what they've learned about supporting one another, building confidence and personal accountability back to their own communities. Campgrnd is empowering our youth to make better life choices and uplifting under-served communities with every session.
Music Technology
Real studios. Real gear.
When it's time for the teens to record their work, they are prepared, excited, and confident. For many of our teens, this is their first time in a professional recording studio. Our studio partners have worked with some of the music industry's top artists, producers, managers and labels. Their facilities contain state-of-the-art equipment that is made available to Campgrnd participants. This grants them a hands-on recording experience.
Career Readiness

Campgrnd is a stipend-based program with a strong focus on professionalism and project completion. This is how we hold our participants accountable for attendance, engagement and seeing their creations all the way through. We want our youth to experience the value that hard work and dedication will bring to their future careers and overall lives.
